During a recent trip to his native Afghanistan, Shaukat Zamani found the public education system overburdened and based on an obsolete curriculum. Three decades of war have taken a tragic and devastating toll. This led Shaukat to form Help Afghan Education (HAE) in May 2010.

Our objective is to build the capacity of young Afghan men and women through the medium of modern education, enabling them to actively participate in the socio-economic development of Afghanistan. As part of realizing this vision, HAE plans to research, develop and implement world-class modern and affordable education in the important areas of English Language, Information Technology and higher education in Afghanistan.

HAE envisions a three-stage education program in Afghanistan: Stage I will involve the establishment of world-class Provincial English Language and Information Technology Education Centers (PEITECs) throughout rural Afghanistan; Stage II will involve a one-year English Language and English Journalism diploma program; Stage III is the establishment of an internationally accredited university that offers affordable education throughout Afghanistan.

Under the efforts of Co-chairpersons Shaukat Zamani and Dr. Gabriele Strohschen, HAE continues to seek out committed partners and partner institutions across the globe to join the self-help efforts of emerging local leaders in Afghanistan.

HAE has secured academic partnerships with Edenz Colleges of New Zealand, one of the largest private colleges in New Zealand, MASIA IT Institute in Peshawar, Pakistan, and the U.S-based AcademicEnglishCafe.com.

Please join hands with us and make the HAE vision to become a symbol of modern education in Afghanistan a reality, and in doing so, achieve our ultimate goal of partnering a progressive and visionary future Afghan government in bringing reforms and progress in Afghanistan.
